Adam Kehrwald was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1978. He attended South Dakota State University before moving to Baltimore, Maryland, and later attending law school in San Diego, California. He was admitted to the bar in Iowa in 2006 and practiced law in Denison, Iowa, before establishing a residence in Des Moines in 2007.
